Your Facebook-profile goes green
We believe that the Internet is a good thing for the environment.
Without the Internet, companies would still be using enormous amounts of paper when
printing leaflets and brochures. Afterwards these would be mailed requiring a lot of transpor-
tation. All of this resulting in large CO2 (Carbon) emissions hurting the environment and causing
climate changes.
However, the usage of the Internet has grown a lot. Today the energy consumption is larger
than ever. This is also causing CO2 emissions.
Our ambition is to neutralize the emissions from the usage of the internet. This part of the initiative
involves the activities on Facebook, as the successful network is growing.
The initiative is voluntary and started out in Denmark. We had hoped for a better result at the UN Climate Conference (COP15) in Copenhagen in 2009, but when that did not happen, we wanted to initiate actions on our own!
- TOGETHER WITH YOU!
Please join our initiative today, and display your CO2 neutrality on your Facebook profile.
